It is an international exchange program that can be used by students who want to study for one or two semesters in an academic year at some universities in countries that are members of the Organization of Turkic States, Turkish University Union, or by faculty members who want to benefit from mobility for a certain period of time.
Information for Students Who Want to Benefit from the Orhun Exchange Program
1- There is no department limitation in applications. After all applications are received, evaluations will be made according to the student admission decisions of the host university that the students prefer and the results will be announced. Students who will apply should check the web address of the university they want to apply to to see if their department/program is available at the university they want to apply to.
2- Students who study in another country as international students cannot benefit from the exchanges.
3- The student exchange period covers a minimum of one and a maximum of two semesters. The semester calculation can be changed considering the education system. However, the total duration of the exchange cannot exceed one academic year.
4- Preparatory, first-year and senior students who continue formal education programs cannot apply to the exchange program.
5- In order to apply, the general academic grade point average must be at least two and a half out of four. (The decisions of the universities that accept the student are taken into account in the equivalent of the grades calculated out of 100 in the four-point system.)
6- Students continue to pay the contribution fee/tuition fee that they are obliged to pay by registering to their own higher education institutions during their time as students of the Orhun Exchange Program. Students participating in the exchange cannot freeze their registration. Students do not pay any additional tuition fees to the higher education institution they will go to within the scope of the exchange program.
7- Orhun Exchange Program students may be subject to other financial obligations that the higher education institutions they go to apply to their own students. This issue is included in the Orhun Exchange Program Student Obligation Agreement made with the students accepted to the program. Higher education institutions cannot make additional financial demands from Orhun Exchange Program students other than the financial payments they request from their own students.
8- Other scholarships and loans received by students participating in the Orhun Exchange Program during their education continue.
Information for Faculty Members Who Want to Benefit from the Orhun Exchange Program
1- Faculty member mobility covers the teaching activities of faculty members working at a higher education institution in another higher education institution. Academic activities of faculty members within the scope of mobility cannot be less than six hours in total per week. Courses are taken as the basis in calculating the activities carried out by the faculty member in hours. If the lesson hours do not exceed six hours per week, academic activities such as seminars, panels or conferences are also evaluated within this scope. Faculty member mobility plans that do not include teaching activities cannot be evaluated within the scope of the exchange program and cannot be accepted for exchange.
2- There is no department limitation in applications. After all applications are received and forwarded to the Turkish University Union Term Presidency, evaluations will be made according to the faculty member acceptance decisions of the host university preferred by the faculty members and the results will be announced. Faculty members who will apply should check whether the department/program they want to carry out teaching mobility in the university they want to apply to is available and information about the language of education on the web address of the university they want to apply to.
3- The duration of faculty member mobility can be 15 days, once in an academic year.
4- In order for faculty member mobility to be carried out effectively and efficiently, the scope, duration and conditions of mobility can be rearranged by the TURKUNIB Term Presidency when necessary.
5- The activities to be carried out by the faculty member are specified in detail in the Faculty Member Mobility Program. This Plan is approved by the boards of directors of the faculty member's own institution and the relevant academic unit of the institution to which they are going. The Faculty Member Mobility Plan is submitted to the exchange program coordination offices of the signatory higher education institution at least 15 days before its implementation. In this Plan, priority is given to special situations such as the language of education of the higher education institution to which they are going, the language in which the faculty members will teach and the level of knowledge of this language. In the exchange, priority is given to applications from faculty members who have not previously participated in faculty member exchange activities.
6- Faculty members who are entitled to participate in the exchange program and who do not participate in the exchange without an excuse cannot apply again to benefit from this program within three years.
7- The personal rights of faculty members participating in the Orhun Exchange program are reserved by their own universities.
